2U Headquarters

LD7 Studio was tasked with redesigning an existing vehicular courtyard area into a creative outdoor space that would complement the ‘No Back Row’ philosophy at 2U. The exterior dining / entertainment courtyard was designed as an extension of the 2U Headquarters interior. We used like materials that were carried from the ground floor interior café and lobby to the exterior, with paving materials and wood surfaces creating a seamless transition so as to enhance the office creativity, innovation, and atmosphere. Various seating groups and styles encourage interaction while working or for relaxation, and a large function lawn allows for lawn games as well as evening social events.
